From the founder
For more than twenty years I have worked in Christian television in Iceland, at a station called Omega. Most of the programs came from elsewhere — English, mostly — and every one had to be rendered into Icelandic before it could air. That work took weeks of careful human time, and still it would miss things. A pastor’s pause. A scripture reference fixed wrong. A term every viewer in the community knew, but the translator on the other side did not.
I am not a traditional engineer. I am a builder. I started assembling Azotus because the station needed it and I could not find anyone selling a tool that respected the content. Generic translation services treat the text as text. The text in this work is doctrine, comfort, and counsel. It deserves to be handled like that.
